Lighthouse Baptist Church
At the foundation of Lighthouse, our aim is to glorify God in everything that we do.
We preach verse by verse through the Scripture (expository preaching) so that people will hear the very word of God as it is given in context.
We use historic and current hymns in modern arrangements with an emphasis on congregational singing.
The Bible changes lives. So we emphasize individual and group interactive studies that help people understand and apply the Word.
We have a congregation of people who value the authentic following of Christ and desire to be part of an active community of believers in the Newark area.

Join us on a Sunday
Here's a step-by-step overview of our Sunday service
Step 1: Arrive
Join us for our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 AM. We are located on the corner of Old Baltimore Pike and Otts Chapel Rd. in Newark. Our main entrance and exit is off of Otts Chapel Rd.
Step 2: Kids Ministry
If you have kids, we are excited to have them join our Lighthouse Kids Sunday ministries! If you have nursery-age children (0–3 years), one of our greeters will direct you to the nursery in our children’s wing. For Discipleship Groups at 9:30 AM, children of all other ages may be dropped off in their age-divided groups in the children’s wing. Following the Discipleship hour, all kids (except nursery) should be picked up by parents. Everyone, including kids, begins in the 10:30 AM worship service together in the main auditorium. Children in K4–5th grade will be dismissed partway through the service to attend Junior Church.
Step 3: Discipleship Groups
Our Discipleship Group hour begins at 9:30 AM, before the main worship service. These groups offer a mix of teaching and discussion-style gatherings for adults and teens. Greeters in the lobby will be available to direct you. Age-divided classes are available for children in the children's wing.
Step 4: Worship Service
Our main worship service begins at 10:30 AM with a greeting and brief announcements. We will transition into a call to worship with Scripture and time of congregational singing of 3-4 hymns. One of our pastors will preach a verse-by-verse expository message from a book of the Bible we are working through that will last around 45 minutes. We often end our service with a hymn.
